The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for the Admissions and Student Services Professional position! In this role you will work with non-traditional students pursuing graduate degrees and special programs, coordinate and maintain the admissions processes to ensure successful application submissions in compliance with current policies, and facilitate a positive and successful experience for both the applicant and CU employees. As the Admissions and Student Services Professional, you will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions and Fellowships, as well as departmental faculty and staff to coordinate all aspects of the admissions and application process for these special programs, and each day, you will provide applicant support, serve as the first point of contact to provide information & guidance to constituents, and serve as the primary student services contact for campus-wide special graduate programs administered and coordinated by the Graduate School.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Admissions for Non-Traditional Graduate Degrees & Special Programs

  • Work on admissions requirements to ensure the application is up-to-date, and that the process is completed in compliance with current policy.
  • Maintain the application for admission for these special programs, working with the departments to maintain processes and create updates as needed each cycle.
  • Give applicants support by answering questions from prospective students, faculty and staff regarding the application process.
  • Coordinate with departments/the graduate processing team throughout the process to ensure efficiency and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Create training materials/guides for special procedures and/or processes, to support non-traditional opportunities.

Bachelor’s-Accelerated Master’s (BAM) Programs

  • Provide information regarding BAM programs, university systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide training on the BAM process to campus partners, and maintain training materials, assist with maintaining correct access to OnBase, Campus Solutions, and Slate for new and existing system users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues working closely with departmental staff, Office of the Registrar staff, etc.
  • Assist with updates to students’ records including plan changes and degree audit exceptions.
  • Supervise, provide support, and process intent (admission) forms through OnBase.
  • Understand, supervise, and provide support on the master’s continuation/BAM supplement form processes; update and adjust Slate continuation form and queries, and help to resolve matriculation issues.
  • Review academic standing for BAM students, evaluate individual situations, take action to notify students and units as needed each semester, place students on and remove students from probation as appropriate, and update campus systems and student records.
  • Review BAM students for candidacy and graduation clearance each semester as requested, with guidance from the Assistant Dean and the Student Services Professional.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Dean (working with others across campus) in setting up new programs, adding newly approved programs to existing processes and workflows, catalog and web updates, etc.

B3 Programs Services & Processing

  • Advise students in programs housed in the B3 “campus/career”.
  • Collect information regarding student requests where dean’s office approvals are necessary (e.g. request for late drop), follow guidance as presented and make decisions to approve or not approve student requests (suggesting other avenues where appropriate) in consultation with the Assistant Dean and campus team members.
  • Verify faculty instructing courses in B3 career have active and appropriate graduate faculty appointments.
  • Review academic standing of students in B3 programs each session, take action to advise students/units, place students on/remove from probation, update campus systems/student records.
  • Assist as necessary with degree audit and graduation process for B3 students.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Dean as questions and issues arise with B3 policies, and work closely with units as updates to program handbooks/policies are needed.
  • Work with the Assistant Dean and other collaborators as additional B3 programs are proposed, incorporate newly approved programs into processes/workflows.

Support Graduate School Admissions

  • Work with admissions staff for all Graduate School programs as needed, updating applications, creating queries, aiding in trainings, providing applicant support, etc.
  • Update/adjust Slate reports and queries.

Dual Degree Programs

  • Answer questions/concerns regarding students in dual degree programs. Provide information about university systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Help make updates to student records including degree audit exceptions and addition of sub-plans and student groups, and updates to primary academic program as necessary.
  • Review dual degree students for candidacy/graduation clearance each semester, with guidance of the Assistant Dean/the Student Services Professional.

General Student Services Office Assistance

  • Provide support to thesis and dissertation process by reviewing submissions as requested, approve final documents and work with students as necessary to bring documents and related requirements into compliance.
  • Specifically assist thesis/dissertation process and related student inquiries during graduation season.
  • Serve as backup to staff members in student services area as needed, including responding to general questions and reviewing and processing forms/requests.
  • Assist with other duties as requested.

  • This position will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid work model following the initial onboarding and training period.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 annually.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience related to student services/admissions in higher education.
