Position Description:

The Syracuse University Future Professors Fellowship Program is designed to support scholars from underrepresented minority groups on their path to becoming faculty members. The fellowship will provide financial support salary, benefits, and professional development of selected fellows for two years. Applicants will select a mentor among highly competitive and productive faculty members. Six positions are available beginning August 15, 2022 or later.

Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a terminal degree in any academic field, particularly in engineering or other STEM fields. Scholars with interdisciplinary teaching and research interests are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

This fellowship program is designed to provide fellows with professional mentoring and research training under the guidance of outstanding faculty. Fellows will conduct research and/or creative work in their chosen field of study in collaboration with one or more Syracuse University faculty members. Fellows also will teach one course per year to gain teaching experience, in the area of their scholarly expertise. In addition to teaching and research, fellows will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Funds are available to support professional development, including conference travel.
