Job Description:


SUNY Empire State College, Division of Information Technology Services seeks a ServiceNow Systems Administrator/Developer (State Title: Lead Programmer/Analyst) at any one of our regional New York locations.


The ServiceNow Systems Administrator will be part of the Cloud Computing team that manages the college's hybrid cloud infrastructure including both on premise and externally hosted solutions. This position is dedicated to providing an excellent customer support experience. The selected incumbent will be solutions driven and be able to see the broader picture without a loss of customer service.


Responsibilities:


This role will report through Cloud Computing, while being embedded with the Service Management & IT Operations team within the Information Technology Services Office. This role is specifically tasked with handling maintenance, management and new development for the ServiceNow platform, which is currently used by Information Technology Services and other functional offices at the college. This role will be responsible for core system configuration, gathering and documenting requirements with customers, development on the ServiceNow platform, and leading development efforts.


  • Support day to day technical administration including release management, coordinate platform upgrades/functional updates, analyze log files, configure file changes, update installation and configuration documents, perform validation/testing, manage change control and perform technical issue/problem resolution as level III support
  • Work with business analysts, project leaders, project management and customers to coordinate release schedules and supervise development activity for active applications
  • Coordinate and work with third party vendors for development and deployment of new applications
  • Lead and support other platform administrators
  • Manage the migration of code between ServiceNow instances and deployments to production for scheduled go-lives
  • Provide guidance and support to Product Managers, technical platform leads, project teams, process and operational managers in areas of the ServiceNow platform needed to support the delivery of product roadmaps
  • Monitor ServiceNow performance and processes with a focus on performance and stability, maintaining KPIs


Requirements:


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of one year of administration/development in a ServiceNow environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience performing development using advanced scripting
  • Hands-on experience with platform upgrades
  • Hands-on experience with developing/supporting integrations

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Hands-on experience working with implementing and supporting the following ServiceNow platform features/functions including:
    • CMDB
    • ITSM
    • Integration Hub/Orchestration
    • Service Catalog
    • Service Portal
    • Workflows
    • Knowledge
    • Hardware Asset Management
    • Software Asset Management
  • Familiarity with OpenFrame CTI integrations, such as 3CLogic or similar
  • Certification in ServiceNow system administration required, ITIL Foundation certified or related experience.
  • API integration- JavaScript API, Web Services, MID Server
  • Demonstrated technical skills: HTML, CSS, Javascript, REST API, GraphQL
  • Responsible, proactive, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment while being a self-starter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor

  • This is a one year temporary position
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours
  • May involve occasional travel

Rank/Salary: SL3/$70,000+
