Position Summary:

This is a fully remote work arrangement and requires the employee to have appropriate home office equipment, telephone and internet connection to perform all job duties. Will be expected to travel to the Clean Energy Center located in Williamsport, PA two days per month to participate in team meetings and program events. This person will provide expertise and leadership for the Clean Energy Center’s commercial building energy efficiency training programs. This includes the direct oversight and responsibility for conceptualizing, developing and improving market-driven workforce training programs for commercial building clients, oversight of program consultants and instructors, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and providing subject matter expertise for the Center’s commercial energy efficiency training programs.

Education:

-Bachelor’s Degree in facility management, engineering, building trades, HVAC, or relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies the individual to perform the functions of the job. (Minimum)
-Building Operator Certification (Desired)
-Certified Energy Manager or Certified Facility Manager credential (Desired)

Experience:

-Three (3) to five (5) years commercial facility management or energy management experience in a mid to large-size commercial facility (50,000 sq. ft. or greater). (Minimum)
-Experience in commissioning, retrocommissioning, and / or conducting Level I or II ASHRAE energy audits. (Minimum)
-Experience working with energy utility and energy efficiency industry sector. (Minimum)
-Experience in managing the development of educational or instructional materials. (Desired)
-Public speaking experience. (Minimum)
-Direct experience in and thorough knowledge of workforce programs focused on the building trades or energy efficiency sector. (Desired)
-Experience in budgeting and managing expenditures and revenue streams. (Minimum)
-Experience in developing programmatic strategies for growth. (Desired)
-Proven experience successfully managing complex projects from planning through completion. (Minimum)
-Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams on projects. (Minimum)
-Experience in continuous improvement efforts and developing best practices. (Minimum)
-Experience with personal computers, email, the Internet, Microsoft Office applications and information sharing in an electronic network environment. (Minimum)

Responsibilities and Duties :

Essential:
-Assist the Director in the planning and implementation of the following functional areas:

  • commercial facilities training programs
  • multi-family structures training programs
  • other initiatives as determined
-In coordination with other Program Managers, lead the development process for new training programs (synthesize stakeholder feedback, generate ideas, develop concepts, pilot new products and innovations, assist in full launch to market).
-Collect stakeholder feedback, industry best practices, information from subject matter experts, and implement strategies for continuous commercial program improvement.
-In conjunction with the instructional design team, lead the curriculum development, review, and maintenance process for commercial programs.
-Serve as a lead instructor for commercial training programs as needed.
-Assist in the recruitment and ongoing training of a qualified pool of contracted commercial instructors.
-Deliver presentations and seminars.
-Build and maintain trusted relationships with business & industry to assess and identify educational & consulting needs.
-Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with commercial sector vendors and certification organizations.
-In coordination with other Program Managers, write proposals, generate grants and contracts, and coordinate activities associated with consulting or training for commercial building sector private companies, non-profit corporations, states, federal government or other entities.
-Represent the Center at local, regional, and national meetings associated with the commercial programs administered.

-Occasional light-duty physical work required for exhibitor booth and classroom set-up/break-down.

-Residency must be in the state of Pennsylvania.
-Occasional evening and weekend work. Flexible schedule necessary to meet the needs of the Center.
-State and nation-wide traveling is required.
-Background check will be required on selected candidate.
