Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree or progress towards a Master’s degree preferred in Education, Higher Education, Psychology, Sport Management, or a related field.

Additional preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in collegiate athletics academic support, higher education, teaching, or related field
  • Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations

Position Summary:

This position assists with daily operations of the UGAAA tutoring and mentor programs, related to academic services, student services, student development, and life skills. This individual will serve in various administrative roles for employees of Academics and Student Services for the Athletic Association. This individual will assist with student-athlete development and academic support. This individual will work with different parts of the Athletic Association. This position is a part-time limited term position with an 11-month appointment beginning in July 2022 and ending in May 2023.

  • Have computer experience in Microsoft Office, G Suite, and database knowledge is also highly recommended.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Academic Services and Associate Director of Academic Services with the daily management of the UGAAA tutoring and mentoring programs

  • Assist in the scheduling of student-athlete mentoring and tutoring sessions
  • Collaborate with academic counseling staff to ensure meet scheduling demands
  • Answer part-time staff’s questions about the policies and procedures of the UGAAA tutorial programs
  • Oversee the Rankin Support Staff Council, whose representatives are tasked with discussing the efficiency and effectiveness of the comprehensive UGAAA academic services
  • Create training materials and tutorials for part-time staff members and lead training sessions throughout the semester when prompted by the Director of Academic Services and the Associate Director of Academic Services
  • Manage program documents, including staff directory, counselor assignment sheets, and the Rankin Support Staff Handbook along with other materials on the academic support staff eLC page

Assists the Director of Academic Services and Associate Director of Academic Services with executive tasks

  • Provide support to the Director of Academic Services and the Associate Director of Academic Services throughout the part-time support staff recruitment and hiring process, by attending recruitment events, reviewing applications, and leading onboarding training
  • Perform semesterly observations of part-time support staff session and portal reports at the request of the Director of Academic Services and the Associate Director of Academic Services
