Reporting to the Associate Director of Housing Technology Services this position manages Housing wide card access control systems for UofSC residential students and Housing employees. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to design, implement and manage future card access systems on new construction and comprehensive renovation projects within Housing and the Student Affairs division, thus shaping the future safety and security of the UofSC Gamecock community here on the Columbia, SC campus.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems or related field and 3 years related work experience or high school diploma and 7 years related work experience; or equivalency. Experience in implementation and configuration, which includes hardware and software, for card access control systems from inception to completion.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous information technology project management strongly preferred. Ability to serve as liaison between housing department and campus police department to ensure installation, maintenance and monitoring of all residence hall security camera systems.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of security and access control. Knowledge of current security, access control hardware, software and emerging technologies. Skill in analyzing and improving operational effectiveness as well as defining program objectives and access control standards.
