The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) resides within the School of Medicine on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. AHWC is an interdisciplinary center committed to developing and delivering programs and services that provide whole-person wellness in the areas of physical activity, mental wellbeing, and nutrition. AHWC is home to a full-service fitness center, the CU Wellness Clinic, science-based weight loss programs, transformative research studies, and community programs.Job Summary
A key member of AHWC’s marketing and sales team, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for coordinating the center’s social media platforms, website, digital advertising and content creation efforts, under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager. The Digital Media Specialist supports all departments within AHWC and is responsible for implementing the center’s digital media strategy and increasing the center’s social media and web presence, driving increased engagement and traffic through strategic campaigns and compelling content. The position ensures that all digital efforts are fully integrated, with an emphasis on supporting both departmental and center-wide goals. The ideal candidate has a broad range of digital marketing experience with strong storytelling, creativity, design aesthetic and technical expertise.Evening and weekend work may be required in this position for social media monitoring; responding to messages posts and reviews; facility issues/crisis management; and attending various events. Specific duties and responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:Social Media
- Manage and execute social media strategy, including benchmarking and analysis of campaigns for center accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others.Maintain social media editorial/content calendars.Monitor all digital engagement, relevant social media accounts, comments, reviews and direct messages. Respond in a timely and professional manner.Stay up to date on current trends, best practices and new technologies.
- Manage and update existing content on the center’s various websites in WordPress and Unbounce, including department, program and campaign landing pages.Create new pages as needed.Analyze site performance across key metrics and perform SEO optimization.Troubleshoot website and integration issues.Assist with build out of new center website in HubSpot.
- Execute, monitor and analyze paid digital advertising strategy on Facebook, Instagram, Google and others to drive lead generation and brand awareness for the center and various programs and services.Track effectiveness of content and campaigns. Make recommendations for improvement.
- Produce, edit and publish original content for different audiences, including graphics, video and text, for use on social media, websites, newsletters and other communications.Proactively work with the marketing and sales team, various departments and subject matter experts to generate content that is compelling, accurate and consistent with the center’s messaging and brand standards, while driving designated KPIs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, design or related field from an accredited university. One (1) year of professional experience in digital media, website and social media management which may include content creation, including graphics, video and copywriting and/or paid digital advertising.
- Hands-on experience with content management systems, including WordPress and HubSpot; HTML is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with social/digital content creation and optimization, paid advertising and digital management tools, including SproutSocial (or other social media planning tool), Facebook Business Suite and Google Analytics and Adwords.
- Intermediate to advanced graphic design, photography and video production/editing experience; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
- Experience with a range of creative and informative copywriting for diverse audiences, including development and creation of engaging copy for social media posts, promotions, events, blogs and articles.
- Strong knowledge of grammar, editing and AP style guidelines.Commitment to producing high-quality deliverables that elevate the center’s brand.Strong storytelling and creativity with ability to communicate voice and call to action in a variety of formats.Highly organized and detail oriented with excellent time management; ability to priority, problem solve and meet deadlines.Exhibits curiosity and interest in learning about and promoting all areas of the center.Interest in learning and mastering new technologies and digital platforms.Strong work ethic with ability to work independently as well as with the team.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with constituents at all levels throughout the center and campus.Outstanding customer service.Interest in fitness, health and wellness.Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.Exposure to, or knowledge of, HIPAA policies and procedures
