Office of Information Technology has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Executive Desktop Support Professional position.

We are looking for an Executive Desktop Support Professional to provide both remote and onsite IT support on the CU Anschutz campus.  Not only will you be providing assistance to end users, technical staff and management personnel but the range of duties vary making every day energizing and new.  The position will also have the exciting opportunity to help train and lead development activities with IT Professionals on our Service Desk.  Here are examples of the types of things you may encounter on a typical day:

  • Manage incidents related to accounts and access, network and telephony, email and messaging, security and compliance, learning management systems, file servers, remote access and computing, and application, software, and hardware support all with minimal supervision
  • Assist with coverage, projects, or initiatives within TSS/OIT when available (not actively supporting their assigned division staff). Such activities will not interfere with the primary responsibilities assigned to this role.
  • Perform systems administration duties including, but not limited to, print servers, imaging servers (MDT), Chat Services (Bomgar) and OIT Service Desk file servers.
  • Engage in high-level problem-solving activities to diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions to meet customers’ needs.
  • Provide onsite support for customers as scheduled:
  • New setup and configuration of Mac and PC computers in accordance with OIT standards and client business needs.
  • Installation, configuration, and incident management for physical hardware on workstations and peripheral devices.
  • Installation, configuration, and incident management for software and applications.
  • Setup and Reconnect Computers moved to new locations
  • Configure user profiles on PC and Mac workstations
  • Identity Management
  • Email Support and Mailbox Administration
  • Inventory management, including consultation and planning for purchasing and procurement.
  • New Employee Technology Onboarding
  • Serve as the Container Manager for organizational units in active directory of departments specified in the Research Administration Memorandum of Understanding.
  • File sharing support and network folder administration
  • Device Security, Encryption Administration, and Support
  • Accounts, access, and Identity Management support
  • Network Printer Administration and Management
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot encryption software in accordance with CU Denver and CU Anschutz policy.
  • Assist Service Desk staff as a point of escalation for high-level, protracted technical issues.

We also have a few Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Work experience in the occupational field or specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree.
  • 1-2 years' experience providing IT support in a Help Desk (remote) and/or a Desktop Support (onsite) environment
And would love to see these additional qualifications:

  • Experience with C-Suite/Executive level IT support
  • Experience with server and application administration
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or other imaging solutions
  • Asset and inventory management
  • CompTIA A+ Certification
  • Desktop Support Certifications

Conditions of Employment:

This position may require some occasional weekend and evening assignments as well as occasional availability during off-hours for participation in both scheduled and unscheduled activities.

This position is eligible for a hybrid of locally remote and on-site working locations. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $54,095 to $66,000.
