- Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders in the area of bioinformatics and data analysisPerform scientifically rigorous data management and bioinformatic analysesCreatively and effectively integrate data from multiple sources to accelerate discoveriesWrite custom scripts to access databases and analyze dataIndependently and creatively identify bioinformatic and data management solutions

- statistically analyze data collected for various research projects
- manage data files derived from data collection or obtained from secondary data sources (such as Epic, claims data, etc.)
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science or related fieldA combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Biometrics, Data Science, Computer Science or related fieldTwo (2) years of professional work experience programming in SAS and/or RPrevious work experience in data analysis and management in a university environmentPrevious experience working with large data sets, especially large claims data
- Working knowledge of SQL Server
- Advanced knowledge of basic statistical principles relevant in medical research
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches
- Demonstrated fluency in SAS and/or R and willingness to learn new programming languages as necessary
- Familiarity with applied statistical concepts and methods
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, with a variety of faculty members and medical professionals
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability
