Job Details
The Coordinator, Recreational Sports, under general supervision, administers fitness and wellness programs to include group exercise, personal training, wellness seminars, student wellness programs, employee wellness program, and special events.
Responsibilities:
Supervising assigned staff to include Recreational Sports Graduate Assistant, Fitness Class Instructors, Fitness Specialist, and Recreational Sports Marketing Staff
Develop, Implement, and monitor a comprehensive risk management plan
Assist with all equipment purchasing, inventory, and perform equipment maintenance
Supervise all aspects of assigned program(s)
Develop short-range goals for the department’s programs and/or operations
Develop procedures for documenting and cataloging all departmental business processes
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Administration, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Administration.
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or the ability to acquire this certification within 8 weeks of being hired
Group Fitness Instructor Certification through an NCCA Accredited program
One year of experience in recreational sports or related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree Recreational Administration, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Administration, or related field
Personal Training, Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition Coaching certifications through any NCCA Accredited programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others –
Oral and written communication skills.
