Job Summary

Design, develop, and test reporting solutions that meet enterprise needs for decision making. Implement, upgrade, and support reporting, analytics and business intelligence solutions to meet the information needs and the strategic goals of a large unit or across units. Analyze reporting requirements, enterprise data model and data integration to deliver enterprise solutions. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: GT leadership, staff, application users, vendors, and IT partners. This position typically will advise and counsel: IT partners, vendors, other Business Intelligence Developers, Business Analysts, or Applications Support staff. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Analyze functional needs that drive reporting solutions. Develop solutions that support decision making and are aligned with Institute standards and processes.

Job Duty 2 -
Research solutions and advise managers on complex technical issues and integrations.

Job Duty 3 -
Design, develop and update reporting solutions that meet targeted and enterprise needs.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop metadata layer in enterprise reporting tools, such as Tableau, Cognos, and PowerBI.

Job Duty 5 -
Identify and gather requirements for testing, develop test plans, ensure the development of test scripts and coordinate test transmissions as required. Verify the collected data is within required quality standards.

Job Duty 6 -
Research and implement best practices, standards, and development strategies in enterprise reporting tools. Ensure the adoption of best practices within the BI Team and across campus through LITE outreach efforts.

Job Duty 7 -
Work with data architects and recommend how data should be stored to maximize reporting efficiency. Verify data within the EDW and develop reporting models for the BI team to use that accurately reflect institute data and business practices.

Job Duty 8 -
Identify and provide input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems. Research products for integration into campus use.

Job Duty 9 -
Provide guidance, training, and problem solving assistance to other team members, campus customers, and project teams.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
University experience and familiarity with GT platforms

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools and strategies (Tableau, Cognos, PowerBI, Workday).

SKILLS
This job requires strong business intelligence skills; ability to set development standards; strong data skills (SQL), ability to work in a team environment; skills in project management, work leadership, presentation, customer service and problem solving are required.
