Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jabra-Rizk at the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Dentistry. The research in our laboratory focuses on investigating the pathogenesis of Candida species. The laboratory is currently working with the fungal pathogen Candida auris; specifically, we are performing in vitro and in vivo transcriptional analysis using RNAseq and CRISPR-Cas-9 system to generate knock out mutants. Other ongoing projects involve using animal models of infections to study host-pathogen interactions and development of novel therapeutic strategies.

 



Qualifications
Candidates must have a background in microbiology and fungal and molecular biology and preferably experience working with rodent models of infections. A thorough knowledge of the English language with good writing and oral communication skills are required as well as the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
