Everything Happens, an initiative within Duke Divinity School, seeks to hire an experienced project manager and digital marketer to coordinate and execute the weekly rhythm of content with an eye toward the wider calendar, themes, and goals of the initiative. The team member will provide high quality control and an eye for detail at every level of project management, staying within budget and within scope, setting appropriate deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress.

This position is grant funded for one year with the possibility for renewal upon review of funding.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinating internal team members and third parties/vendors/contractors for the execution of all projects for the Everything Happens Initiative, working closely with project leadership to ensure correct resources are allocated.

Leading a weekly meeting to present metrics, evaluate performance, and set goals.

Developing, implementing, and managing the wider social media strategy for the Everything Happens Initiative.

Collaborating with the Everything Happens team to work on overlapping content/marketing to ensure consistency of brand.

Monitoring SEO and user engagement, suggesting content optimization.

Working with the creative coordinator to develop and manage the weekly content calendar – email content, handwritten font posts, letterboard, graphics, commission videos/audio clips, and draft copy to be submitted to founder for approval.

Tasking and overseeing workflow of creative coordinator to ensure adequate pacing of weekly rhythms, seasonal projects, and new ideas.

Reviewing all content before release for final edits, proofing, and quality control.

Supporting development of free assets (resource guides, videos) and assist with product launches (merchandise, liturgical guides, etc.)

Uploading and/or scheduling social media content.

Curating, producing, and uploading a weekly email that features podcasts, liturgies, excerpts from writing, etc.

Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including tracking meetings and ideas for development

Creating seasonally appropriate content and opportunities for community engagement (e.g. Nurses Day).

Measuring social media performance and email marketing performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

Creating marketing funnels to build the social media followings and email listserv.

Research and track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.

Desired Skills

Ability to provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting standards and monitoring performance.

Skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.

Skills evaluating program performance, summarizing findings, communicating results, and forming an action plan.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

Departmental Preferences

Prior engagement or lay leadership experience in congregations or a faith-based organization is preferred. The best fit for this position is a self-starter who is knowledgeable about social media, takes initiative, develops processes and systems that track and predict their work timelines, and provides relevant data to inform strategies to achieve project goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. Duke University was created in 1924 by James Buchanan Duke as a memorial to his father, Washington Duke. The Dukes, a Durham family that built a worldwide financial empire in the manufacture of tobacco products and developed electricity production in the Carolinas, long had been interested in Trinity College. Trinity traced its roots to 1838 in nearby Randolph County when local Methodist and Quaker communities opened Union Institute. The school, then named Trinity College, moved to Durham in 1892, where Benjamin Newton Duke served as a primary benefactor and link with the Duke family until his death in 1929. In December 1924, the provisions of indenture by Benjamin’s brother, James B. Duke, created the family philanthropic foundation, The Duke Endowment, which provided for the expansion of Trinity College into Duke University.Duke Campus

As a result of the Duke gift, Trinity underwent both physical and academic expansion. The original Durham campus became known as East Campus when it was rebuilt in stately Georgian architecture. West Campus, Gothic in style and dominated by the soaring 210-foot tower of Duke Chapel, opened in 1930. East Campus served as home of the Woman's College of Duke University until 1972, when the men's and women's undergraduate colleges merged. Both men and women undergraduates now enroll in either the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences or the Pratt School of Engineering. In 1995, East Campus became the home for all first-year students.

Duke maintains a historic affiliation with the United Methodist Church.
