Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or in a related field. Experience in teaching or a related field preferred.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Responsible for maintaining and servicing all IT equipment and software. Creates and maintains an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school programs and goals. Coordinates and supervises the district’s robotics program.
Primary Responsibilities:Assists in implementation of all online assessment programs including STAAR online secure browser application and DRC portal. Rosters students for digital instructional platforms including Google Suite logins, mCLASS by Amplify, DMAC, Cambium TIDE, IXL, RazKids, etc. Manages district website using WebCMS platform. Assists in managing social media and marketing platforms via Facebook and Niche.com. Supports student access and achievement of digital programs within the classroom. Prepares lessons and models instruction for paraprofessionals to provide coding, robotics, and typing instruction during weekly Enrichment classes. Serves as lead coach for three competition robotics teams at three campuses (knowledge of FIRST Lego League activities is preferred).
IT support relating to technical issues and familiarity with Microsoft’s applications, Jamf, Google workplace, VPN, Chromebook, Windows 10 and Mac OSX. Troubleshoots on the wired and wireless network and related vendor support issues. Performs hardware installation and configuration (Printers, Scanners, Copier, Desktops, Laptops). Executes onsite tech support for managed devices including installing software, updating drivers, installing printers, troubleshooting network connectivity, resolving policy conflicts. Completes annual inventory of all district staff and student technology including iPads, Chromebooks, ViewSonics, and managed laptops. Develops and maintains systemic inventory schedule of all devices, their respective warranties, and retirement/replacement schedule for them. Manages all Ricoh printers. Maintains clear and courteous communication with customers: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Communicates effectively both written and orally. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented with a strong customer service orientation. Work is of moderate technical complexity and issues are resolved based on knowledge from experience and/or college level courses.
Must be willing to travel between zoned Charter School sites. Sites located in Greater Houston area.
