Research Assistant/Data Collector (part-time), Department of Psychology - Georgetown College - Georgetown University

The Department of Psychology seeks a Research Assistant/Data Collector - in a part-time role - who will be involved in recruiting and testing participants for a new grant-funded study looking at learning in monolingual and bilingual young children. They will be trained to run eye tracking and memory flexibility, studies and collect data in the field.

Closely supervised by the Principal Investigator (PI), and working closely with the PI's Research Program Coordinator, the Research Assistant/Data Collector will collect data alongside undergraduates, graduate, and other research personnel to visit families in the field to collect data and on campus, and to collate data in a timely manner. They will also prepare materials for families and maintain of their records, conduct field visits to the homes to collect data and, participate in team meetings.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree from a 4-year college
  • Due to the DC metropolitan area's growing Spanish speaking population and the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines differences between monolingual and bilingual children, Spanish speaking skills are preferred
  • Research experience working directly with young children is preferred
