HCM Operations Lead, University Information Services - Georgetown University

Job Overview

The HCM Operations Lead is responsible for supporting the HR, Benefits and Payroll enterprise system supporting Students, Faculty and Staff; analyzing data, gathering requirements, and creating reports; providing high level customer support; and engaging with the stakeholders for Student, Academic, HR, Benefits and Payroll processes at Georgetown University. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Manage annual compensation processes including merit, minimum wage and union increases
  • Assist stakeholders with data change requests through EIB processing
  • Manage the HCM role request process
  • Monitor and take appropriate action on administrative tasks that maintain optimal system operation, including but not limited to disabled workday accounts, supervisory organization change requests, and duplicate candidates
  • Engage with the Identity Management team to troubleshoot issues related to the NetID integration
  • Identify, configure and implement automation functionality available in Workday
  • Support project related work as needed
  • Support bi-annual release updates and testing
  • Provide exemplary customer service to end-users

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Director of HCM Systems and Processes, the HCM Operations Lead may serve as a member of one or more project teams, with an additional reporting line to that project's manager. They have no direct reports.

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related computing intensive field
  • 5 years of experience [or combination of Master's degree in Computer Science/MIS or related computing intensive field and 2 years of experience]
  • 0-4 years of work experience in business process design or data administration and user documentation in relevant enterprise environments - preferably in a higher education environment
  • Current experience with Business Process design in a medium to large size organization.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise system (human resources, financials, student, etc.) - preferably Workday
  • Experience with enterprise integration methodologies such as SOA
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and use effective working relationships within own department and across line, functional and geographic reporting lines
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in order to produce timely, efficient and high-quality deliverables

Preferred qualification

PMP or similar experience
