The Social Media and Multimedia Manager supports the Office of Marketing and Communications at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) in its efforts to raise the school's visibility by overseeing its social media and multimedia content strategy.

Working closely with members of the Office of Marketing and Communications team, and with partners across campus, the Manager oversees all facets of social media strategy on MSB platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube), as well as video production, including, but not limited to, concept and story development, gathering video and audio footage, editing, and post-production of branded short-form and long-form videos used primarily on the web and on social media.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages MSB social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube) and the Dean's LinkedIn page
  • Creates original content for paid and organic social campaigns to promote MSB degree programs and special initiatives, aligning content with MSB overall brand messaging and strategic vision.
  • Tracks relevant analytics about the performance of these platforms and coordinates with the MSB editorial and digital team to identify opportunities to optimize content across MSB channels.
  • Scripts, produces, and edits original video and multimedia content to be used across MSB channels, including clips for social media, videos for the website, multimedia stories for the MSB newsroom, and other projects as identified.
  • Works with Georgetown's social media managers on university-wide campaigns.
  • Coordinates with MSB faculty-led centers, initiatives, and institutes on social media campaign development and execution for all signature events and announcements.
  • Monitors industry trends and best practices to continually refine and improve social media and multimedia strategies.


Work Interactions

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Social Media and Multimedia Manager helps raise MSB visibility to all stakeholders through social media, videography, and other communications channels; and supports communications regarding student engagement, admissions activities, faculty research and thought leadership, strategic initiatives, and more in support of student, faculty, and staff recruitment, employer and corporate relations, alumni relations, and advancement/fundraising efforts.

The Manager works across all programs within MSB and with key partners throughout the university, as well as with external stakeholders. Within MSB, they coordinate with centers/initiatives/institutes on their social media and multimedia strategies, including student-run accounts, as well as promotions surrounding signature events. Additionally, the Manager coordinates MSB social media marketing efforts with the graduate degree programs and the custom executive education office; and across the university, they serve as MSB liaison for coordinated social media campaigns.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field
  • At least one (1) year of experience managing social media platforms for an organization
  • At least one (1) year of experience filming, producing, and editing multichannel video content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting deadlines
  • Experience with website content management systems, such as WordPress
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Experience in analytics reporting
