St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Degree Specialist for the Registrar's Office. This position provides comprehensive support to the degree audit lifecycle. The Degree Specialist focuses on transfer credit assessment, study abroad records, scribe and system management in Degree Works, maintaining accurate audits, and CPOS compliance and support. This role will also certify VA students in collaboration with other areas for proper enrollment reporting.

Specific responsibilities include:

Manage the Degree Works system through scribe, system updates, substitutions and troubleshooting. - 25%

Oversee CPOS compliance within the registrar’s office, in conjunction with Financial Aid staff. - 25%

Serve as lead to certify and advise students on VA benefits. - 15%

Facilitate study abroad transfer credit review and implementation working with the various campus colleagues, including advisement and faculty. - 20%

Award degrees in an accurate and timely manner each semester (fall, J term, spring, summer). - 15%

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education -

  • Associate Degree

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Experience and Credentials -

  • At least 3 years of experience in student services and or registration.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Google Suite, Banner, DegreeWorks, Business Objects, VA Once, and the National Student Clearinghouse. 

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and discretion.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to talk politely and resolve issues for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Regular work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.  This position is expected to work on campus on a regular basis and is eligible to participate in a Hybrid Work and Flexible Schedules.  Approval of Flexible Work Arrangements are at the discretion of the department supervisor to ensure that  the needs of the department and college are met.  Weekends or evenings are generally not required and the position is not expected to travel.  Additional after hours are required for Commencement and Orientation.

  • Office setting work, mostly sedentary with occasional walking and standing.  Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.  Position communicates verbally and in writing most of the day with frequent analyzing of data.
