Required Qualifications

Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in education, communications, business administration, or related field and a minimum of five years' of experience working in enrollment management or student services

 

 

Job Summary

Director for Admissions hold the primary responsibility for ensuring effective recruitment and retention of a diverse student body, through holistic measures, to meet the future healthcare needs of Georgians as Georgia's only public medical school. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Admissions, Medical College of Georgia. S/he will serve as the office supervisor and back-up to the Associate Dean for Admissions and the Administrative Director of Admissions in their absence. Provide direct supervision of Senior Admissions Counselor, two admissions counselors, as well as the office specialist. Develop and maintain efficient processing algorithms for all 3100 applications per year. Ensure efficient coordination and enactment of our new interview process, Multiple Mini Interviews. Continue to enhance and develop strategic recruitment activities for the Office of Admissions (holds the primary responsibility for branding of the Admissions office) through our website, videos, printed materials, and promotional material related to current students, and coordination of major recruitment efforts including Re-Visit Day and First Look Tours. Serve as primary recruitment representative for the Office of Admissions to major recruitment schools within the State and beyond. Represent the school at national meetings and on regional and national boards. Serve as liaison and non-voting support to admissions committee members. Manage data for Admissions recruitment/application processing and develop reports for the Associate Dean for Admissions, the Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, the Dean, and the President and/or Provost as needed. Provide Counseling to prospective and rejected applicants and serve as liaison and primary contact for coordination of shared information with MCG dual degree programs. (BD/MD and MD/PhD).

 

 

Shift/Salary

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
