Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of International Programs, the Coordinator will lead the delivery of educational and professions programs to the diverse community of Southern Nevada, Mexico, and other Latin American countries. The Coordinator of International Programs will have a deep understanding for the needs of non-traditional learners and an entrepreneurial spirit to provide a range of programs, trainings, and certifications. The coordinator, in collaboration with many other units at CSN, will facilitate: the development and implementation of academic and technical strategies; provide outreach to establish partnerships with community organizations; and responsibility for the design, implementation and delivery of education programs to reach K-12, including higher education, ESL and workforce technical programs. The coordinator will act as a liaison between CSN and government agencies, institutions, and the local and international community.

The coordinator will collaborate with key community leaders from across the State of Nevada and beyond - including, government officials, faculty, staff, students, and alumni - as well as community partners from the immigrant serving community, diplomatic bodies, Advisory Boards, funders, and the public.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Support programs and initiatives, working at the direction of the Director of International Programs to coordinate program development, planning, events, and operations.
  • Support relationships with the Southern Nevada community and with external community partners.
  • Disseminate the educational opportunities provided locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally for community members.
  • Understand the educational system and requirements of k-12, workforce technical programs and higher education programs.
  • Delivers on-going programing on access to education and professional training.
  • Develop skill-based courses for immigrant parents to help them navigate systems to succeed in the US. These include computer literacy and ESL.
  • Collaborates with educational institutions in developing positive relationships with families, youth, and community at large.
  • Maps out immigration related activities taking place on campus and with community partners.
  • Collects and manages data sets. Organize impact information and create outcome reports.
  • Liaise with the community to remove barriers to learning and support academic achievement.
  • Maintain effective relations with internal campus and external constituencies.
  • Willingness to participate in remote training regarding educational opportunities for immigrant families.
  • Demonstrated ability in programming and project management.
  • Partners with community agencies in accessing resources.
  • Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of international protocol and the practice of diplomacy.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of international affairs and familiarity with immigration law and regulations.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university in Social Sciences, Business, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in education, program management and program development, administration, teaching and education, or International Education.
  • Full proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of educational systems such as K-12, higher education, and professional technical and workforce programs.
  • Ability to guide traditional and non-traditional students through the educational pipeline.
  • Ability to work in a complex, multi-campus environment.
  • Ability to create, sustain and thrive in a work culture that values inclusiveness and diversity.
  • Possess knowledge of intercultural competence.
  • Excellent communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university in education, social sciences, international affair, or related field.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, organize, schedule, and prioritize schedules and assignments.
  • Experience in higher education administration.
  • Knowledge of educational opportunities available for non-English speakers in Nevada is desirable.
  • Knowledge of education systems in Mexico and other Latin American countries is desirable.


Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty C
$58,561 - $62,660

*This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
