Position Summary
Dominican is seeking an experienced individual to serve as course instructor for Occupations in Adults and Seniors III (OT5118), a 2 unit graduate level course. The focus of this course is on advanced OT clinical reasoning for conditions seen in physical rehabilitation across the continuum of care. Students are introduced to OT roles in acute care, intensive care, primary care and other emerging settings, and practice medical chart reviews and use of electronic health records in documentations.


Responsibilities
  • Teach a two unit graduate course
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Perform other course related duties as assigned

  • Course Descriptions

    OT 5118 Occupations of Adults and Seniors - Third in a three-semester series of courses focusing on occupational therapy practice with adults and seniors experiencing physical disabilities. Consideration of OT domain and process, client factors and client performance skills and patterns as defined by the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework. Content covered includes acute care, intensive care, primary care and community and role emergent settings

    Required Qualifications
  • Master’s (minimum) or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Currently hold a CA OT license
  • One year of higher education experience or equivalent teaching research
  • Proficient or able to learn in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Moodle (online classroom management tool) & Zoom
  • Must have recent (within last 5 years) work experience in acute care and/or rehabilitation and be familiar with GG-score application

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • More than one year of higher education teaching experience
  • Prior experience in teaching Occupational Therapy interventions in physical rehabilitation
