Educational and Experience Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Business, or related field from an accredited institution. Three years of relevant experience required. Experience planning and deploying either business or IT initiatives, both preferred. Experience with Higher Education business and administrative processes preferred. History of professional growth as evidenced by the acquisition of professional development and certification is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Works as part of a team within the Finance & Operations (F&O) Division providing integration, technical and analytical support services for the campus Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system including Ellucian Banner technologies and other third-party applications (SharePoint, Chrome River, Cornerstone OnDemand, PeopleAdmin, Jaggaer, FAMIS Cloud, NuPark). Analyzes the activities of a particular business unit or line of business and makes recommendations pertaining to the projects that the business unit should perform, in addition to relevant and timely suggestions to business processes, and the structure of business information.

Primary Responsibilities:

Works as part of a team to analyze functional requirements to determine moderate to complex technical requirements. Captures the tactical and strategic business goals and defines work problems. Gathers basic requirements from functional process owners for projects and in support of current applications. Possesses a familiarity of fundamental business processes for a given area (Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, and Auxiliaries). Works as part of a team to develop a business architecture strategy for the business unit based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios. Coordinates and manages meetings and works effectively with internal and external constituents. Coordinates with data owners within the Finance & Operations Division, Division of Information Technology staff, and contracted vendors regarding upgrading technical projects and project tasks. Secures resources as needed. Partners with end-users to execute program and testing plans. Provides continual technical support to end-users in the Finance & Operations Division to enable the staff to become more effective and efficient using the university’s technology. Demonstrates consistency in generating technical documentation. Responds to, troubleshoots, and repairs issues with solutions and associated applications including Ellucian Banner, and other third-party applications. Works with key functional subject matter experts to understand the business process gap related to Ellucian Banner technologies and other third-party applications (Chrome River, Cornerstone OnDemand, PeopleAdmin, Jaggaer, FAMIS Cloud, NuPark). Functions as the liaison between subject matter experts, Division of Information Technology, and third-party vendors. Develops and implements timelines to meet the goals of functional areas. May work as part of the team to review new programs, functions, procedures, and packages before they are loaded into production environments and systems. Develops, recommends and refines the processes necessary to automating processes when possible. Develops technical training materials and may assist in the technical training of staff within the division. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within divisional workgroups as well as throughout the university. Must be able to communicate with all levels of technology end-users. Work requires critical judgment and sound reasoning to solve department and division issues. Work requires attention to detail, as errors can be potentially serious.
