Epic Application Coordinator Intern
General summary/purpose:

We are looking for bright energetic individuals in their Junior/Senior year of college looking for an internship to assist users and IT Epic builders with functions involving Epic (our EMR - electronic medical record). The individual must have an analytical mind, like to solve problems, be organized and a self-starter.

Specific duties & responsibilities:
  • Assist with creation of support documentation
  • Test clinical workflows as described in training tip sheets
  • Support Command Center for Epic upgrades
  • Exhibits ability to gather the appropriate data and devise and design simple systems solutions to user issues and problems
  • Demonstrates ability to devise simple bench-marking metrics to assess system performance
  • Demonstrates attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development and documentation and record keeping
  • Communicates effectively with users, colleagues and developers
  • Demonstrates basic degree of analytical skill
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize large amounts of data into groups and/or concrete classifications
  • Demonstrates the ability to create and review presentations by evaluating the appropriate audience
  • Exhibits ability to escalate issues timely and accurately
  • Demonstrates the ability to attain to established deadlines for project tasks and/or issues resolution
  • Works under direct supervision in support of team initiatives

    Minimum qualifications (mandatory):

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Demonstrate basic knowledge of computer systems, applications and interfaces as acquired through courses toward a degree program in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Clinical studies.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • College coursework.
    • Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point.
    • Proficient in presentation skills

    The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
