Position Description:
The Senior Finance & Operations Analyst in the Office of Business and Financial Services (OBFS) provides leadership for the administrative and financial support to the Vice Chancellor for Research and the seven departments within the Office of Research Administration. Reporting to the Financial Manager, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) assess and implement unique solutions to business management problems and oversee all building operations and space management; 2) oversee building security, emergency and safety programs, and maintenance of space to promote a safe and healthy work environment for all staff 3) analysis, reporting, and expenditure control functions for the Vice Chancellor for Research portfolio with a broad array of fund sources; 4) allocate executive management's financial commitments to departments campus-wide for various human/animal/safety committee members and research program initiatives. Lead or serve on workgroup/committees regarding the full range of administrative matters to support the business operations of OBFS to best serve VCR/ORA constituents.

The Office of Business and Financial Services (OBFS) provides the full range of business services for the Vice Chancellor for Research organization including human resources and payroll, financial reporting, monitoring and analysis, purchasing and reimbursements, and building operations and space utilization. This primarily involves the seven units within the Office of Research Administration (ORA) division, the three units within the Vice Chancellor's Research & Creative Activities (ORCA) division, and assistance to the Technology Development Group (TDG) division as needed. The OBFS supports an annual budget of approximately $57 million for an organization that includes over 250 staff members in multiple locations on campus and over 60,000 square feet of high-rise office space in the Wilshire Glendon Building across four floors.
