Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:The Coordinator of Football Operations will manage, recruit and retain all student assistant positions as it relates to managers and video personnel. Will oversee the purchase, organization, distribution and repair of athletics apparel and equipment. Will also be the liaison to certain departments on campus per the head football coach. Serve as the camp coordinator for all summer camps.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Managing all operational aspects of the Murray State football program including, but not limited to, planning and schedules per the head football coach.
- Ordering, receiving, and proper use of all things, other than strength & conditioning equipment, purchased by Murray State football.
- Must use proper purchasing parameters set by the Department and University regarding purchasing and inventory control guidelines.
- Will hire and supervise any and all student assistant managers and video personnel.
- Manage student assistants so they can organize, distribute, collect, repair, store, fit and maintain all necessary field equipment, meeting room equipment, as well as the equipment and video offices.
- Coordinate the transportation of equipment
- Possibly be required to drive the equipment truck to away games.
- Prepare supplies for home and away contests.
- Responsible for ensuring annual safety certifications.
- Manage student assistants so they can set up and organize practice equipment and drill needs
- Ensure all logos/patches are added and presented correctly on uniforms and coaches attire per conference and NCAA guidelines.
- Organize, educate and coordinate all football ball boys for games as required by conference rules.
- Other operational duties as assigned by the head football coach.
- As a member of the Murray State University Athletic Department, you shall comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations as provided in the NCAA Division I Manual. If you are found in violation of NCAA regulations, you shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant repetitive violations.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and athletic equipment required
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, community and media.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- At least one year of athletics experience is preferred, especially in equipment.
