Job Summary

The Part-Time Specialist is responsible for the organization, implementation, and supervision of note takers for students with disabilities and overseeing support for students who have disabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Recruits, screens, trains and monitors note takers as assigned
  • Maintains the note taking data base
  • Monitors the administration of student feedback surveys
  • Arranges and oversees the placement of special furniture in classrooms
  • Plans and implements specific approaches that enables the students to either make progress or find alternative life options
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in related discipline: or Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience working with students with disabilities
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
