The ARC Power Plus Grant Program, Cybersecurity and Safety Workforce Development Initiative, is seeking a Bootcamp Instructor who will facilitate rapid “bootcamp” style trainings in cybersecurity that will lead to industry-recognized credentials. The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise and be a current practitioner in relevant technical disciplines and will focus on preparing students to build the skills and knowledge base to take and pass certification exams such as the CompTIA Network+, (ISC)2 SSCP, CompTIA Security +, and CCNA.  


This is a fully grant funded, benefit eligible, full-time, 12-month, FTE 1.0 position. 




Our Requirements and Your Experience 

  • Ability to teach, take attendance, and QA labs in a highly interactive and engaging style 

  • Experience in educational materials development – A Plus! 

  • Preferred knowledge of security techniques and information systems controls to secure an enterprise infrastructure. Knowledgeable with basic cyber security principles. 

  • Familiar with common security measures such as Network Access Control, Device Control, Whitening Solutions, Mail Relay, Endpoint Protection Solutions. 

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure, IR/DR, Social Engineering 

  • Basic skills with TCP/IP, LAN and WAN networking. Strong packet analysis knowledge. 

  • Understanding of designing and implementing core application services including Network Time Protocol (NTP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).  


  • Responding to emails for the cohort (daily) 

  • Reviewing lecture content and preparing to instruct the class if needed (daily) 

  • Taking attendance  

  • Reviewing and leaving feedback on assignments (daily) 




The Bootcamp Instructor reports to the ARC Power Plus Program Director, who in turn, reports to the Senior Vice President for External Relations. 



  • BS degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Software Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline. 

  • Experience as an instructor/trainer including planning, scheduling, and delivering cyber security and related training programs and materials. 

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, results-driven, and well-organized. 

  • Excellent communication skills 


Preferred Skills/Certifications: 

  •  CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA 

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) 

  • Certified Information Security Advisor (CISA) 

  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) 

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) 

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) 

  • CompTIA Security+ 


Our ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in Cybersecurity theory and application. This person must be passionate about Cybersecurity and even more dedicated to giving our students the highest quality education and training required to land entry-level Cyber jobs upon graduation from the program. It is preferred that the candidate have the above-mentioned certifications, experience in public speaking, methodology, content, and delivery of interactive training. 


Some evenings and/or weekends required. 

30% in-state travel required.
