Duties:

Under the administrative direction of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Director of Resource Development provides leadership for and administers all grant funding and grant development processes. The Director of Resource Development is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning. Duties include:

  • Providing leadership for external funding initiatives, from concept to implementation
  • Managing grant development and grant implementation teams
  • Developing grant budgets; assisting grant managers with budget management
  • Providing leadership with grant monitoring, reporting, and expenditure tracking systems, including preparation for external grant program monitoring by funding agencies and external evaluators
  • Delivering effective communication for all college and external stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives (including training on grants for staff)
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Vice President

Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in educational administration, business, or related field. Minimum of five years in management and five years’ experience in grants management, preferably in a community college setting.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-divisional and cross-functional teams successfully
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing/editing and speaking
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills commensurate with the position
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret funding agency manuals and grant guidelines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of college records and data
  • Skilled in using various software programs, including Adobe Pro, Excel, and agency-specific online systems
  • Ability to create highly detailed proposals conforming to prescribed formats; define problems, collect and interpret data; effectively present information to administration, management, faculty and others
