This position supports the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) scholarship program, which includes scholarship awarding support. Successful candidates will have a solid background in scholarship administration and financial aid.

As Colorado's flagship university, CU Boulder has selective admissions standards and a comprehensive array of undergraduate and graduate programs.What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeScholarship Awarding Coordination:
  • Supports the Coordination of CEAS portfolio of scholarships, tracking award and renewal criteria for the variety of scholarships offered. Follows the strategy set by College leadership and the Scholarship & College Affordability Program Manager for CEAS scholarships.
  • Uses AcademicWorks for coordination of scholarships, including communications to students, scholarship applications, award notifications, donor matching, management of student thank-you letters and disbursement of funds to student accounts, etc.
  • Supports communication with prospective and current students and parents on scholarship-related matters.
  • Collaborates with Office of Financial Aid on scholarship applications, awards, and management systems.
  • Works with Scholarship & College Affordability Program Manager to determine eligibility and appropriate donor matching of all students based on college and donor criteria within a defined timeline. Issues final awards to students based on specific donor requirements, reviews fund agreements, and funding availability.
  • Serves as a secondary partner with the advancement team to ensure accurate awarding and tracking of scholarships in alignment with donor intent and assist with the collection of student thank you messages for advancement to use in donor stewardship efforts. Works with college advancement team to support the internal tracking system to monitor college and donor scholarship recipients required activities and communication.
Financial Accounting Support:
  • Works with Scholarship & College Affordability Program Manager to develop and implement processes to monitor scholarship accounts (includes current funds, interest funds, endowments, and PeopleSoft), to know what monies are available for awarding as well as problems in funding (e.g., underwater accounts or not earning interest).
  • Undertakes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three years of relevant professional-level experience, which need to include experience in scholarship program coordination or management, financial aid, and/or account management in higher education.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (expert level for Excel and Word).
What We Would Like You To Have
  • Experience working with students and families in a higher education setting.
  • Familiarity with managing financial accounts and budgetary analysis.
  • Familiarity with federal and state law compliance involving scholarships.
  • Experience interacting with college students, donors, and parents.
  • Familiarity with university's student information systems (e.g., AcademicWorks, Vemo, Campus Solutions, OnBase, Slate, etc.).
  • Sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural, political, and geographical differences, with ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students from around the world.
