03-May-2022 Close All Job SummaryThe Mortenson Center is accepting applications for a Project Manager! The project manager will be responsible for identifying, proposing, coordinating and executing on internally and externally funded research and development efforts. These projects require expertise in environmental engineering, data analysis, and technology transfer. Using this skillset, the project manager will contribute to scoping and executing a research pilot focused on water resource management in the Western United States in collaboration with internal and external collaborators.

The Mortenson Center combines education, research, and partnerships to improve development tools and practice. We train engineers to recognize the issues at the core of development challenges, and collaborate with partners across the CU-Boulder campus and the world to create sustainable, scalable, evidence-based and multidisciplinary solutions to global development problems. Our program provides multiple pathways for engineers to enter the field of global engineering.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Work with MCGE Managing Director to establish and execute a process for recruiting and supporting students to engage in summer research projects that contribute to the objectives; establish a process for the faculty led research engagements, including internal and external partners’ solicitation of support and MCGE identification and recruitment of the appropriate expert; support the identification and development of research opportunities and proposals. Also, coordination with partners, including landowners participating in field level data collection; coordination and execution of field work associated with instrumentation and survey deployments; collection and analysis of field and remote sensing level data and integration with mechanistic and statistical models.

The annual salary for this position is $80,000.

  • Masters in engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of qualified experience.
