Governors State University is seeking to hire an Office Support Specialist for The Advancement Services department to perform routine and advanced support tasks, which require knowledge of standard office procedures, the ability to effectively operate a variety of office equipment, the ability to follow complex directions/protocols, work as both part of a team and independently, and the ability to effectively operate computer systems, using word processing, database, and Advancement-related software packages.Minimum Qualifications:
The office support specialist will support and assist with the implementation, daily management, gift entry, and operation of Advancement CRM software (Slate for Advancement) and related data and software, performing a variety of administrative and clerical functions in a timely, accurate, appropriate, and effective manner.
Additional duties may include general office work, and/or assistance with the planning and execution of Advancement-related events and activities as directed.
Salary: $13.36 per hour. (This is an unionized position.)

1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to the second level of this series.
3. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the categories below:
A. Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including use of computer systems. B. College or university course work in any curriculum: – twelve (12) semester hours = six (6) months. – twenty-four (24) semester hours = twelve (12) months. – thirty-six (36) semester hours = eighteen (18) months. – forty-eight (48) semester hours = twenty-four (24) months.
