Position Summary:

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Program Coordinator to report to the Executive Director, Center for Student Engagement and Intercultural Programs, and be responsible for coordinating numerous student engagement opportunities; providing comprehensive direction and guidance as students plan projects and events; serving as a resource to students; assessing and maintaining practices, policies and procedures; assessing and maintaining department digital footprint; participating in staff trainings and meetings; and participating on committees and other programs promoting student engagement on campus. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for programs and services related to working with student engagement initiatives, leadership programs and departmental expansion efforts.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
20% Assists in the day-to-day operations of the program or multiple projects on behalf of the Center for Student Engagement and lntercultural Programs.

10% Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars related to university and departmental mission and goals.

10% Collaborates with stakeholders both on and off-campus to build relationships to enhance student engagement.

10% Coordinates the various engagement opportunities in collaboration with university departments, faculty, and staff, student groups, and stakeholders.

10% Coordinates long and short-term programs, including performing feasibility studies and estimating budget.

10% Develops and supervises the implementation of multiple projects or programs that supports the mission of the Center for Student Engagement & lntercultural Programs.

5% Aid in reviewing and developing policy to enhance the student experience.

10% Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external
departments/agencies and other organizations.

10% Plan, develop, organize, and coordinate research and survey design to aid in the development of student engagement opportunities. Support event coverage when necessary, including evenings and weekends.

5% Perform other duties as assigned.

Starting Salary: $48,360.00
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED: COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TRANSCRIPTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE EARNED DEGREE AND CONFERRED DATE MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS POSITION (See “Special instructions to applicants” section below).

· Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling or a related field from an accredited university.· A minimum of one to two (1-2) years’ experience within Student Affairs (i.e Greek Life, Student Activities, Residence Life, etc.).· Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion work and the ability to appropriately and effectively understand and adapt to cultural differences within a group environment.· Demonstrated student/group leadership experience.· Experience in budget management and planning, appropriate technology and data base management.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling or equivalent.· Experience in program and event management.· Working knowledge of national fraternity/sorority governing bodies such as NPHC, NIC, NPC and others.· Experience with and demonstrated competence using social media, student engagement platforms (such as CampusLabs), and software (Adobe products and online multimedia tools) to meet the objectives of the position.· Student staff supervision experience.
