Position Summary:

Governors State University is seeking to hire a Digital Content Coordinator to be responsible for ensuring a seamless user journey through UI/UX best practices, producing and publishing written and visual content for the web, promoting accessibility as defined by the ADA, editing and proofreading, and coordinating across the Marketing team, working with writers, editors, designers, and project managers, among other tasks.

The Digital Content Coordinator should be skilled at building, improving, and sustaining a digital presence and journey, as well as using analytics in the execution of a content strategy. This individual will develop and update website and portal content, ensuring effectiveness in digital advertising campaigns and CRM communications.

The Digital Content Coordinator should have a foundational knowledge of CMS systems, UI/UX design, measuring and reporting analytics, and digital advertising platforms.

This position requires working proficiency of coding knowledge (HTML, HTML5, Javascript, CSS).

Essential Responsibilities
30 % Communicate proactively with university departments; write, edit and proofread new and updated web and portal content that is both ADA compliant and Search Engine Optimized.25 % Update and optimize web and portal pages, including information architecture and calls to action.15 % Track web, portal, and CRM analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.10 % Add, remove, and update events across web and portal pages.5 % Continuously audit web and portal content to ensure relevance and timeliness5 % Update faculty bio pages5 % Support social media manager with relevant cross-platform content, including program updates, testimonials, and upcoming events.5 % Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to team members.

Starting Salary: $42,607.50.
(This is a non-unionized position. Salary starts at the base and is determined based on Education and Experience exceeding the minimum qualifications).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school graduation or equivalent.
  2. Any one or any combination of the following types of preparation:
    1. college/vocational/technical training with a concentration in computer science, graphic design, journalism, English, technical communication or related fields
    2. work experience in web page preparation, design, and maintenance (i.e., HTML text editors and HTML graphical editors, graphics programs and digital media equipment)
      that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
      • 30 semester hours of “A” = 1.0 unit
      • 12 months of “B” = 1.0 unit

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1 year of experience in web content updating and management, including utilizing a Content Management System.
• 2 years’ experience in web, UI/UX, or digital marketing
• Online Portfolio
