Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.

The Program Coordinator will lead in coordinating and implementing the daily operations of the University’s Pre-Collegiate Programs. This position will travel to various local high schools up to three times per month to provide college preparatory programing. The Program Coordinator will also support the CORE TEAM Director in implementing the Summer Success Program (SSP) and dual enrollment efforts. SSP is an on-campus experience that allows freshmen students to experience the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville environment prior to the fall term. Through structured and integrated activities, students will be prepared to meet the demands of college and bridge the gap between high school and college. Dual enrollment courses are offered to high school students by the CORE TEAM department. These courses are offered at the SIUE location as well as other SIUE community locations. The Coordinator will process program participants applications and other required program paperwork as well as monitor and provide assessments and reports pertaining to student program completion and overall programming outcomes including student persistence. The Coordinator serves as the primary contact and resource for all programming students and parents.

In conjunction with the Director of CORE TEAM, the Coordinator will participate in goal setting, implementation, and evaluation of the current and future CORE TEAM programs. This position will collaborate with the Student Engagement Coach along with a team of student workers, volunteers and mentors who are actively involved in the CORE TEAM efforts. The selected candidate will be expected to provide exceptional professional and courteous service and guidance at all times. Applicants must be able to work successfully with diverse populations.

Due to the professional responsibilities of this position, occasional evening and weekend hours will be required. The Program Coordinator will be required to be available to work evenings and weekends during the 5-week Summer Success Program. Other duties may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.
