Position Purpose:

To oversee and coordinate communications and publications of the Undergraduate Registrar’s Office at Dartmouth College. Responsibilities include writing and editing Registrar notifications to the campus community; updates to the Registrar’s Office website; production of web guides and videos for faculty, staff and students; coordination of academic catalog revisions; and publication of the Registrar’s quarterly newsletter. To serve as liaison to academic departments and programs who need assistance in utilizing Registrar Office systems, processes, and technology. To develop and implement training programs and workshops for users of Registrar systems.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • Two years or more experience working in a higher education administration setting
  • Demonstrated experience writing clear, effective professional communications, documentation, and training materials within an office setting
  • Demonstrated experience with website content management and video editing tools
  • Experience training adult learners

Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new software
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with web content management and video editing tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning principals and training methodology
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge and language to users

Description:

Registrar Publication and Notification Oversight

  • Initiate and edit Registrar notifications to the campus community to include reminders, instructions, deadlines, etc.
  • Participate in the communications review and dissemination process to ensure updated, accurate, Assist in the review of website content to ensure information is up to date
    • Oversee the production of training guides in various formats – online, video
    • Enter termly academic data into the DartHub calendar
  • Produce On Course, the Registrar’s Office quarterly newsletter
  • Oversee the publication of the College’s course catalog and coordinate the submission of edits from academic departments/programs and administrative offices

Training

  • Work with both Registrar staff and constituents to understand system and training needs for applications and processes supported
  • Provide support to members of academic departments and programs on the use and function of Registrar’s Office applications
  • Design and implement training programs and workshops for students, faculty members and staff who utilize Registrar systems and processes
  • Develop new and maintain current user web-based guides, videos, and other resources for Registrar’s Office applications
  • Maintain and update internal office process documentation
  • Coordinate and oversee group and one-on-one training sessions on Registrar office systems and processes

  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively to support the functions of the department and participates in its leadership structure
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to improve Registrar service to the campus community
    • Develop projects within the department which result in measurable service improvements
    • Participate in departmental technical project implementations that require external support and/or partnerships as appropriate
