The candidate will have extensive experience in studying the epidemiology of patients with chronic kidney disease, including effects of disparities in access to treatment, effect of age, frailty, degree of renal dysfunction, and type of renal replacement modality (in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, kidney transplantation). The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful grant funding (NIH or foundation), as well as publishing original research papers in high-quality journals.

The candidate will spend most of their academic effort doing funded research as described above. In addition, the candidate should interact with other members of the GUMC faculty, serving as a content expert in epidemiology. This expertise would be expected to be in nephrology as well as other divisions within the Department of Medicine. An expertise in geriatrics and rheumatologic diseases would be especially desirable.

The candidate will also be expected to teach other faculty, nephrology fellows and residents at GUMC campus. The candidate will be expected to develop a longitudinal curriculum in epidemiology suitable for implementation at the medical student, resident and fellow levels.
