Director of Institutional Research and Planning

CCV is in search of a Director of Institutional Research and Planning to lead institutional activities in the planning, collection, analyzing and reporting of data in support of the College's strategic initiatives. You must be an excellent communicator, familiar with making data-driven, executive-level recommendations, and a highly skilled analyst. The director plays a key leadership role in facilitating evidence-based dialogue about the College's performance, anticipates future trends, and facilitates the College's strategic and operational planning initiatives.

Our preference is candidates who have a master's degree in Education, Social or Educational Research, or a related field. Previous experience in higher education is highly valued.

Essential Job Functions:

Promote a culture of evidence and inquiry through active engagement with the college community.
Oversee all data development and produce a wide variety of data reports on enrollment, learning assessment, and student retention.
Works with various campus constituents to facilitate use of institutional data for goal-setting, assessment, and strategic planning, with a focus on continual improvement. Collaborate with others who are engaged in data generation and reporting both within the college and within the system.
Lead major assessment and evaluation efforts including administering surveys, developing survey content and designing samples, analyzing data, and disseminating results.
Provide leadership and data expertise in completing annual external reporting activities. Produce and present various finding and reports as required by state and federal governing and accrediting bodies.
Maintain an annual planning and evaluation calendar, assist with the annual review and periodic updating of CCV's strategic plan, and coordinate annual updating of the College's various operational plans.
Provide data, methods, assessment knowledge, and higher education expertise in defining and clarifying the proposed project and desired output. Identify data needs and sources. Lead discussions about strategies and analyses.
Deliver consistent, reliable, timely and accurate data and information to internal and external customers.
Ensure proper data integrity (i.e., ensure data collection methods are consistent, accurate, and properly entered in system(s)).
Create and maintain dashboards using the institution's data visualizations tools.
Supervision Received:

The Director of Institutional Research and Planning reports to the Dean of Student Affairs and Strategic Initiatives

Supervision Exercised:

Supervision of Institutional Research Associate and other IR staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Social or Educational Research, or a related field required.
Demonstrated experience with collecting and analyzing data in a professional setting.
Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics.
Outstanding communication skills, including writing and presenting, in individual and group settings. Ability to convey complex information in written reports.
Advanced skill with Excel, Tableau, and database management systems.

Other Preferred Skills and Experience:

Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
3-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in higher education institutional research, data collection, analysis and reporting.
Occasional flexible hours and statewide travel required.
