Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing skilled work in the maintenance of campus buildings.

Minimum hourly rate $15.10

UPDATE (06/28/22): This is being updated to a temporary one year position working 30 hours a week. This position will be benefits and retirement eligible.

This position will end June 30th, 2023 unless additional funding becomes available.

Responsibilities

Performs building maintenance duties. - 70%

• Repairs doors and hardware.
• Repairs and replaces door locks.
• Performs carpentry repairs.
• Repairs roofs and gutters.
• Repairs ceiling tiles.
• Repairs floors.
• Paints interior and exterior surfaces.
• Performs glass and window repairs.
• Repairs signage.
• Welds and fabricates parts and equipment.
• Repairs fences.
• Changes HVAC filters and belts.
• Pressure washes buildings, patios, and walkways.
• Sets up and relocates furniture.
• Operates a variety of equipment and hand and power tools.

Maintains tools and supplies. - 10%

• Maintains tools and supply inventory; makes purchases as needed.
• Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.

Performs a variety of related duties. - 20%

• Assists in setting- up for special events.
• Provides assistance to other department personnel as needed.
• Performs custodial maintenance as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Other Required Qualifications
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Required Experience
More than two years of related experience required.
