Job Details

Illinois Wesleyan University is seeking experienced Primary Care Provider(s).  Will consider MD and APRN, in either full time or part-time capacity.  Responsible for providing direct care to students who present to health services; assess, diagnose and treat health conditions, including communicable disease.  This is a temporary, on-campus position, with a minimum duration of 5 months and a possible extension through the academic year. Direct care services will begin in August 2022 with orientation as arranged. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide ambulatory health services to students; assess and diagnose health conditions; treat using best practices for college health, including prescribing and coordinating medications; coordinate care or refer to specialist if needed; maintain records; collaborate with Health Services Registered Nurses

     

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum:  Master’s degree required 

     

    Must be licensed in Illinois as an MD or APRN, with prescriptive authority

     

    Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience

     

    Medical knowledge of conditions common in young adults and skill to treat

The final candidate will pass a pre-employment background investigation.   Per the Governor's August 26, 2021 Executive Order regarding COVID-19 vaccination, personnel in the higher education setting will need to either provide proof of vaccination, or apply for a medical/disability or religious exemption. All those not fully vaccinated will be required to participate in weekly COVID testing on our campus.
