POSTION: Senior Director of Career Services

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Academic Services 

TEMPORARY WORK AREA: Pansler Suite #U237 

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

To have Master’s degree in one of the academic areas of the University.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 

Demonstrate ability to communicate well, advise and coach students 

A personal faith commitment appropriate to that of a Christian university.

Previous administrative experience in a higher education environment.

Ability to organize and supervise multiple tasks simultaneously 

Ability to effectively manage time and schedules 

Knowledge/experience with life/career coaching and general tracking

Great customer service skills (students, parents and faculty) 

Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal and academic records 

Knowledge of career coaching procedures and job placement 

TRAINING TIME

6 months, includes on the job training. 

DUTIES AND OTHER JOB RELATED ACTIVITIES 

Develop and implement a 1-3 year strategic plan for COMPASS 

Regularly develop and submit to the office of the Vice President of Institutional  Effectiveness goals, assessments, results, and recommendations for quality  enhancement 

Hire and oversee management of COMPASS professional staff and Graduate Assistants. 

Assist staff and program development through setting goals, staff development, assessments and performance reviews 

Work with the COMPASS staff to assure consistency in promotional pieces, branding logo, Website, and social media 

Manage the COMPASS end-of-the-year reports and staff evaluations

Develop and administer the departmental budget 

Responsible for promotion/marketing and business development activities to raise awareness as well as support for COMPASS and SEU 

Directs and oversees the management of the various events, resources, training and  developments of the career exploration office. 

Establish and implement short – and long- range organizational goals, objectives,  strategic plans, policies and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate 

programmatic and operational effectiveness and effect changes required for  improvement. 

Provide professional leadership, resource support, and strategic collaboration with  constituencies on student retention, development and enrichment issues. 

Represent the university to various institutional divisions, external agencies, and  individuals, prospective vendors, and/or a range of constituencies with in the  community at large.  

Participate in the development of University policies and procedures; serve on  university planning and policy-making committees.
