Description
The College of Letters, Arts & Sciences (LAS) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in Humanities from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. 

The position is responsible for teaching courses for the Department of Humanities. Specialties include HUM 3990. This is a multi-disciplinary course with two instructors. It draws from the following departments: English, History, Languages and Culture, Visual and Performing Arts and Philosophy, and from non-Humanities departments such as biology and sociology . The courses may be in person or online.

Work Location: Typically, on-site; position may be partially remote, based on the semester-to-semester need of the department, as determined by the supervisor.

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Pay dependent on number of courses taught. Generally $4000/per 3-credit hour course.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

    MA or PhD in the following areas: English, History, Languages and Culture, Visual and Performing Arts and Philosophy, as well as Biology and Sociology, or related areas as needed.Willing to teach either in person and online
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
