We are looking for a Research Assistant to join the Perissi Lab at Boston University School of Medicine. The lab is broadly interested in genomic regulation of metabolism and uses combination of biochemistry, mouse genetics and next-generation sequencing approaches to study nuclear-mitochondria communication and adaptation to metabolic stress, with a focus on adipose tissue and breast cancer. The job will entail general lab management duties, mouse colony husbandry, cell culture as well as performing biochemical and molecular biology experiments using established protocols as needed to complete ongoing projects and to generate preliminary data for grant applications. The successful candidate will work directly under supervision of the Primary Investigator, Dr. Valentina Perissi.
- A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics), with 0-12 months of research experience.
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize, eye for details and careful record-keeping.
