The Quandt lab is seeking enthusiastic and talented applicants for an open Lab Manager position. This position would include both research and administrative opportunities. The ideal candidate would be highly organized and possess strong interpersonal skills. Lab experience, particularly in the areas of molecular biology and microbiology is preferred.

The Quandt lab is part of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EBIO) Department at the University of Colorado Boulder. Our lab studies fungal evolutionary biology - especially the evolution of host association, the evolution of pathogenicity, how fungi interact with other microorganisms, and fungal biodiversity. Phylogenetics, genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, experimental evolution, and molecular community ecology are tools that we are currently using to address these larger interests in fungal biology. What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeAdministrative duties
- Coordinate lab repositories of fungal and bacterial cultures.
- Organize biosafety certification and laboratory protocols.
- Introduce incoming lab members to common laboratory practices and safety guidelines.
- Oversee ordering of research items.
- Help generate Lab Expectations document for current lab members.
Wet lab duties
- Maintain common lab reagents, equipment, and consumables.
- Organize and make culturing supplies such a solid and liquid media.
- Autoclave waste and sterile items.
- Unpack and distribute orders upon arrival.
- Complete experiments in support of ongoing projects in the lab.

Salary dependent on education level and years of experience. Range $35,000 - $49,000 annually, plus benefits.

- A working knowledge of basic software (Word, Excel, Google Drive).
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- A strong interest in microbiology or molecular biology.
