Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Career Placement and Corporate Partnerships, the Coordinator of Career and Internship Services directly supports t the operations of Career Services and coordinates internship and international opportunities for Hybrid Learning students including but not limited to: study abroad, partnership, and internship development for Unity College. This position provides Unity College Hybrid Learning students with all career services, in alignment with the characteristics its specific needs.

This position assists students and alumni with career development skills; develops and presents career related programming; provides, administers, and maintains career data-collection tools; provides individual counseling; and teaches career decision making as well as helping track alumni career placement statistics.

The Unity College Coordinator of Career and Internship Services develops and maintains relationships with employers, graduate schools, and study abroad organizations in coordination with institutional external partnership efforts. This position also assists with strategic College efforts regarding the internship program, including marketing and student recruitment; student success and retention; external partner relationship management; and strategic planning as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1 – 3 years’ work in partnership development or career services.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Maine Driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to function effectively within a matrix organizational structure, maintaining open lines of communication while being discreet, courteous and well poised.
  • Work Schedule / Availability Requirements

    Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, and weekends. Working extended hours required as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the College’s needs. Although Unity College employees are generally scheduled to work at their specifically assigned locations, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignment at any Unity College location.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
