Job Summary This position is a full-time, non-tenure track, 10-month academic year Lecturer of Teacher Education within the Department of Teacher Education and Social Work. This position will teach in the Elementary/Special Education teacher education program and work collaboratively with colleagues and students in a creative inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

Teaching five courses each semester including fully online, face to face, and courses involving placement experiences.Service to the program, department, university and community.Perform other duties assigned by the Program Director, Department Chair or designee.

Required Qualifications

Master's in Education or a related field5 years of teaching experience, preferably in grades P-5 or special educationEvidence of teaching excellenceAbility to effectively engage with colleagues, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience of studentsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated capacity and interest for collaborative teachingKnowledge of academic assessment practices

Preferred Qualifications

Education Specialist or Doctorate (PhD or EdD) in education or a related fieldPrior teaching experience in higher educationPrior experience as a mentor teacher
