This is a full-time, university staff position that is currently fully remote. A hybrid work schedule that consists of 2 days per week on campus and as-needed for in-person meetings will be implemented at some point in the future. This role is responsible for all aspects of Affirmative Action (“AA”), including strategy, design and implementation. The Program Manager provides policy guidance and interpretation to deans, administrators, staff, and faculty on a wide range of AA issues. This position oversees and manages the recruitment and retention efforts to diversify candidate pools, and creates, develops and implements AA policies and plans. The individual in this position must remain current on policies and procedures for the above tasks and ensure compliance with all university, state and federal guidelines as well as compose strategies to meet those guidelines. - Planning, Data Collection, and Report DevelopmentOverseeing the development and implementation of the University affirmative action plans in conjunction with federal, state, system and University/College needs and evaluating efforts on implementation of these plans.Analyzing, generating and interpreting quarterly status reports and other reports may be required to monitor the progress of the University and College affirmative action programs.Providing leadership and oversight to ensure compliance with Affirmative Action statutes and regulations. Submitting annual reports on ADA compliance.Reviewing existing equal opportunity policies for the University for compliance with federal and state guidelines
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration social sciences, public administration, communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institutionFour years of progressively responsible experience which included preparing affirmative action plans and working with departments to improve utilization, and working with OFCCP guidelines, timelines, auditing procedures, and other legislation to ensure university compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan.
- Full-cycle recruiting experience that resulted in diverse applicant pools A master’s degree from an accredited institution, with previous experience in higher education, and/or affirmative action compliance fieldsThree or more years of experience developing, and managing Affirmative Action Plans Three years of experience writing clear, timely, and thorough compliance reports to be submitted to the federal governmentExperience with affirmative action trainingExperience using affirmative action software such as BiddleCertified Affirmative Action Professional (CAAP) credential
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex situations, particularly situations with a high level of confidentialityDemonstrated knowledge about affirmative action requirementsStrong written communication skillsStrong analytical skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office products and affirmative action softwareExcellent time and project management skillsDemonstrated knowledge and the ability to interpret federal, state, and local equal opportunity and nondiscrimination laws and regulations Keen ability to train on and present complex information to a diverse audience
