Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Assists in the supervision of student clinical instruction under direct supervision of qualified faculty members.
  • Supervises assigned students during all aspects of medication administration.
  • Determines student’s knowledge of medication action, recommended dosage and routes of administration, side effects, nursing implications, drug interactions, etc. prior to medication administration.
  • Ensures safe medication administration following program objectives and guidelines.
  • Ensures proper documentation and evaluation of patient response to medications received according to agency policy.
  • Assists with the supervision of assigned students during approved skill performance/treatment.
  • Ensures proper documentation of patient responses to treatment.
  • Provides feedback regarding student performance to the supervising faculty member.
  • Participates in student conferences with the qualified faculty member as needed to improve student performance.

Additional Job Specific Duties

  • Maintains professional communication at all times. Professional communication includes, but is not limited to, appropriate texting/emailing only while on the clinical unit and no picture taking in the clinical setting.
  • Submits all required documents required by ACC and the clinical agencies prior to participating in student experiences.
  • Submits all time electronically and within the required timeframe according to ACC policy/procedure. Failure to submit timesheets incompliance with college policy may result in employment being discontinued.
  • Uniform dress code: Wear Teal Scrubs and a white lab coat while working in the clinical area in compliance with the established school dress code policy AND the Healthcare Workforce Alliance of Central Texas (HWACT). You are required to wear your ACC ID badge while working at all times.

Required Education
  • ADN or BSN with 3 years of clinical experience.

Criminal Background Check

Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all staff and faculty positions.

Working Conditions
  • Work is routinely performed in an office/classroom environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

Pay Rate

$39.80/hour
