- Work will largely be experimental, but will require up to 25% clerical activities, including laboratory management.
- Culture and genetic manipulation of Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae
- Processing of animal tissues for downstream analyses
- Performance of in vitro in BSL2 conditions
- Participation and presentation in lab meetings
- Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders with laboratory and research functions
- Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects
- Perform experiments and tabulate and analyze research
- Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, equipment, safety, cleanliness, and related areas
- Maintenance of laboratory stocks and buffers
- Ordering and procurement of laboratory supplies
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment and computers

- Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to research, including microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, biology, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis
- Bachelor’s degree in field relevant to research, including microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, biology, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field

- Experience in laboratory management, animal breeding and handling, working with Candida or Saccharomyces species, flow cytometry, molecular genetics.

- One to three years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
- Experience with Microsoft office suite of applications; FlowJo and Graphpad Prism and/or R preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques
- Demonstrate that they are well-organized, reliable, independent, and possess considerable attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
