About the Position: The University Counseling Center is looking to fill a permanent, full-time, 12-month Case Manager/UND Community Liaison position.  This position provides services designed to minimize the impact of mental illness or emotional distress on the academic and personal pursuits through effective case management and the coordination of care within and between campus and community resources.  This position will help students make informed choices and review options of access inside and outside the UND Counseling Center.  The position will hold office space at the University Counseling Center.  The position reports to the Director of Counseling Center.

Position Responsibilities
    To assist UND students in options of care for counseling services and other services.  In collaboration with other Counseling or Psychological Agencies and or practices, Student Health Service’s or other medical treatment options, the job is to develop, maintain, and monitor a clinical case management system, compliant with professional and ethical standards.Facilitate timely initial assessment options, continuity of care and follow-up for services.Assist Counseling Center therapists by facilitating clients' connection to counseling services, community resources, social services, insurance options or authorization requests.Provide referral and access as needed to private therapists.Follow up to ensure that clients are appropriately provided information about referral resources in accordance with treatment recommendations; provide follow-up and additional case management and support as appropriate.Coordinate care for UND students following hospital mental health evaluation or discharges.Assist UCC therapists in coordination of incoming request for documentation/request for letters and or summaries of services.Assist students or campus for general questions about services.Develop and maintain a database of referral resources and services in surrounding communities; including current insurance panel or providers and providers who will work with students.Initiate and develop on-going liaison relationships with other campus departments such as (OSRR, DSS, Housing, SHS) as well as community health providers, community agencies, hospitals, and other resources.Position will include outreach opportunities.Front desk support.Other duties as assigned.
Required Competencies
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical case management.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a database of referral resources and services in surrounding communities (including current insurance panels of providers).
  • Demonstrated skill to flexibly manage the professional demands of a challenging workload while maintaing positive and healty perspectives and relationships.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or closely related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work or closely related field
  • Two year of relevant experience in community group practice, social services, community mental health or hospital settings.  
Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$42,000+ / year ; exempt; full-time; benefitted

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
