Job Details
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor Medical Geneticist. Applicants for this position should be qualified for medical licensure in Virginia, board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics and should possess excellent clinical and teaching skills. As part of their experience and training in clinical genetics, individuals should have experience in the diagnosis and management of inborn errors of metabolism.
The Department of Pediatrics is extremely collegial and collaborative. The Division of Pediatric Medical Genetics is comprised of three board-certified medical Genetics faculty, six Genetic Counselors, and two Metabolic Dieticians. Our Division provides evaluations for possible genetic causes of birth defects, chronic diseases or development problems, diagnosis of genetic disorders, management and treatment of genetic disorders and inborn errors of metabolism.
The University of Virginia Children's Hospital is located in Charlottesville, a setting with natural beauty and significant historical relevance in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Qualified candidates will have an MD, DO, or MD/PhD and be board-certified or board-eligible in both Pediatrics and Medical Genetics. Qualified candidates should also have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and teaching skills and a commitment to clinical excellence and an interest in scholarly activities.
